Frensham Pond Nearly5 Sailing Group

The Frensham Nearly5 group meet at midday every Saturday. The Group is a mix of abilities from beginners to experts and from those who just enjoy sailing to those who want to race. The aim of the group is to take inexperienced dinghy sailors and build their racing skills and confidence. Many of the group are young people, but there is no age limit. We sail three classes of boat: Laser 4.7, Laser Radial and for the younger sailors the RS Tera.

The normal Saturday afternoon starts with a meeting at 12 to do some on-shore training and plan the rest of the day. That lasts 15 - 30 minutes depending on the weather and what we need to talk about. Then its on-the-water training/sailing until 1:30 when we come in for a break. At 2pm (2:30pm in the summer) we join in the Frensham afternoon club race.

If you are not a member of Frensham please come and see us on a Saturday afternoon and find out more about the club and our group - just turn up and say hi. The club website has directions and a map so you can find us. You can also drop me an email: ian at Nearly5 dot com if you want to chat beforehand.

Hope to see you on Saturday!

PS why "Nearly5.com"? Because 4.7 is nearly 5 of course...

PPS and don't forget that Frensham Pond is officially the best sailing club in the world...
